The Tesla Powerwall 3 is a 13.5kW lithium-ion home battery, or energy storage system, manufactured by EV and clean energy manufacturer Tesla. It is the latest model of the Tesla Powerwall series, Tesla's first home energy product to hit the market. It is primarily for residential or light commercial use.

The Tesla Powerwall 3 provides 13.5kW of total energy and 11.5kW of maximum continuous discharge power, or usable energy. This gives the Tesla Powerwall 3 a depth of discharge of approximately 85%. The Powerwall 3 is capable of providing 5kW of continuous power and has a round-trip efficiency of 89%. Unlike previous models, the Tesla Powerwall 3 uses a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell for its battery technology.

The Powerwall 3 can operate at a temperature range of –20°C to 50°C (–4°F to 122°F) and 100% humidity. The battery can also operate safely up to an altitude of 3000m. While operational, the battery produces 50 dB of noise. 

The battery has a height of 1099mm (43.25”) a width of 609mm (24”)  a depth of 193mm (7.6”), and weighs 130kg or 287 lb. It can be mounted to the floor or the wall. 

The Tesla Powerwall 3 has an in built battery inverter, features rapid shutdown technology, and supports islanding devices. The battery can be interfaced with via the Tesla Mobile App, which can be connected via Wi-Fi, ethernet or 4G. 

The Tesla Powerwall 3 meets a number of safety certification requirements from UL (Underwriters Laboratories), IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and the UN (United Nations). 

Currently, Tesla is offering a 10-year product warranty for the Powerwall 3.
